One of Cycle Heaven's most ask service questions is " why wont my motorcycle start" after setting up for several months, usually during the winter or off season riding time. Usually the problem will be the battery being low of charge and possibly spark plugs fouling from trying to start the motorcycle or ATV on the old gas that has set in the tank or gas can for months. The battery issues in some cases can be fixed by simply charging it with a recommended trickle charger or using a battery maintainer such as a plug in trickle charger that will monitor your battery over extended periods keeping it charged , but not overcharge because it is done automatically. The fuel issues can be prevented by adding fuel stabilizer such as products like (Stabile) in your fuel before long storage or extended periods of not riding. If spark plug fouling has occurred cleaning or replacing the fouled plugs will give life back to the bike. A little known fact about fuel is that regular unleaded gas will start to break down and go bad after only two weeks. Amazing facts for the price of the stuff! I hope these few helpful tips keeps you on the rode and safe through the beautiful riding days ahead.
